Wow! This is...quite a change in tone from what was on here the last time I visited this site. I especially like the corkboard background and the way the elements gently bob up and down like this. All the elements "fit," which I think is nice. I did have a question, if it's not too much trouble: what are your thoughts on light vs. dark backgrounds/themes? I generally prefer darker backgrounds because staring at bright colors for long periods of time can give me headaches, but I find it extremely difficult to make a dark theme look good.

hey! thanks for complimenting my site. personally, i agree with how you feel about dark themes (i have dark mode on literally everything) but i do think that it is a little more difficult to make a good dark theme. it’s not totally impossible, an example of a site with a good black and white theme would be https://ghostingpen.net though it is a pretty minimalist theme which i don’t think you can really go wrong with. i’ve seen a bunch of other darker sites that look really great across neocities, just don’t think i’ll have a dark layout anytime soon (not intentionally, just haven’t felt inclined to experiment with one!)
